Our values
The path that started at Mustion Linna has led many to long-term and committed employment, offering opportunities for advancement, growth, and development. Our summer colleagues often return to us year after year, always teaching us veterans new things! Work, especially during the busy season, is often fast-paced, and we cannot claim that any task is easy. However, we can promise that you'll never be bored! We've found that Mustion Linna has its own rhythm. Time flies quickly in good company, with efficient, fun, and motivating work vibes!
The area is maintained through business operations. The late Magnus Linder bought back his childhood home and started the business at Mustion Linna in 1985-1986, with the goal of preserving the historically valuable area for future generations. Mustion Linna is privately owned by the Linder family. The main building was turned into a foundation after Magnus Linder's death. The owners do not take profit. The proceeds are used to maintain, restore, and develop the area and buildings, honoring Magnus Linder’s wishes.
The annual number of visitors has steadily increased thanks to growing recognition and visibility, and above all, the recommendations of our guests. Feedback from our partners and visitors averages 4.4/5 – 8.5/10 (as of December 2024). We actively collect feedback to better understand what our guests appreciate and areas for improvement.
The over 200-year-old main building of Mustion Linna, located in the old ironworks area, is one of Finland's most valuable manors and a nationally significant cultural heritage site. The manor is under the supervision of the Finnish Heritage Agency. Guided tours of the museum offer insights into the long and fascinating history of the area, as well as the glittering and even tragic phases of the family’s past.
The manor and its stunning buildings are surrounded by a large, enchanting English-style park, which is open to the public free of charge. The privately owned park was originally built in baroque style but was redesigned in the late 19th century into an English-style park. Many exotic, unusual trees were planted from different parts of the world. Today, the park provides peace for the soul, with winding paths, summer houses, romantic bridges, statues, and unique floating lily paths. The park and manor are located near the old and picturesque Mustio ironworks village, whose history dates back to the early days of the iron industry in the late 1500s.
The area hosts a popular summer theatre offering a diverse range of programming. Mustion Linna’s summer theatre provides quality entertainment, from theatre performances to concerts and stand-up shows, in a covered outdoor theatre during the peak season. Events at Mustion Linna and the restaurant Linnankrouvi are held year-round. The large park provides an excellent setting for various activities and events.
In addition to museum experiences, Mustion Linna offers hotel, restaurant, and conference services in its historic and charming buildings. The former horse stable and old granary serve as meeting venues. The former winter garden offers a sauna experience with a magnificent view. The manor’s wing, Edelfelt, and former workers’ housing at the ironworks serve as hotel accommodations. A two-story suite, Merlin’s Tower, located in a converted transformer station, is named after the magician, in honor of the magic the area once needed, according to the late owner.
